MC- ZBrush Models for Milestone 4

Here are the models for my Milestone 4 project after I put them into ZBrush and worked on them.

I used the masking pen, inflate brush, smooth brush, claybuildup brush, dam_standard brush, and just the regular standard brush.
The masking pen was a big help with the clock. I used it for the details around the face of the clock. After I had the shapes masked out, I used the claybuildup brush to bring out the details so they stuck out like the actually clock.
With the shield, I used radial symmetry to get all the diamonds, triangles, and sphere shapes.
For the book, I used X and Y symmetry to get the engraving details on the cover.

All of these projects were so fun to make! At first I had no idea where to start or how I was going to do it. Once I figured it out though, it was just so exciting and fun to put in all the details.
When I would figure something out, I would have this face of awe and such a silly smile. ZBrush can be fun to use.

MC- Milestone 4

Before and after angles of my Milestone projects. On the left was Milestone 3, the right is Milestone 4, the final scenes. For the final scene we had to make 3 more props and then bring them into ZBrush to give them that more advanced and fun detail.
These projects have been fun and really amazing. I never thought I would be able to do any of it when I first started classes here. I still have a lot to learn though, this is only my second class using Maya after all.

MC- ZBrush Dynamesh- Elephant

Used Dynamesh in ZBrush to make a stuffed elephant. Some of the tools that I used to make it were the move, smooth, inflate, and standard brushes. It was rather difficult at first since I am still getting used to using ZBrush and all the tools and brushes that it has.

MC- ZBrush and Maya- Pillow

     Started using ZBrush with Maya.

Made a basic pillow shape in Maya first, then took it into ZBrush to give it finer details and make it look like an actual pillow with folds and dents and fluffiness.

Brought the pillow back into Maya as two models: a low resolution and a high resolution one.

MC- Milestone 2

Milestone Project is really coming together. Added more pieces to it, but I'm not sure if we will be doing anymore with it since this class is almost over.

MC- ZBrush- Oil Drum

Today we started using the ever so talked about ZBrush. Tested out some of the brushes on this here oil drum making it look weathered and beaten up. ZBrush is a bit complicated and overwhelming at first, but I think you get used to it pretty fast.

MC- Mirror Model

A nice mirror to accompany the comb.

3DF- Candle Model

Continuing adding models onto my milestone scene:

For lighting, there were multiple candles to choose from. I chose ones that would hang on the wall so that I could have more space on the table and bookshelf models for other small objects that would have to be placed there.
The model started out pretty well, I knew how I was going to make it and where to start, and it looked like the picture. I ended up doing it the hard way though when I went to extrude the borders and put in holding edges. . . Lot of problems there, it was not fun fixing all of that, but I managed to clean it all up.

3DF- Toy Box and Blocks Model

This past week in class we were learning about the quad draw tool and how to make more complex models with multiple holes with different shapes on multiple sides of the model.
So what is the best object to practice modeling for that? A toy box with the blocks and holes.
I chose one of the boxes with more blocks and more sides that had the holes cut out of. Paying attention and taking notes in class really pays off when you go to model on your own. This project went smoothly, and I only got stuck at couple of places, but eventually figured it out.

Just for fun, and because there was still time, I added color to the blocks and box to really bring it all together and look like the actually toy.

3DF- Couch Model

I modeled a couch the other day. I started by making the arm and side of the couch, creating flat objects, and extruding and changing the sizes of them so they would match the picture.
This was definitely the most difficult part to create since the shapes had curves and more detail than the rest of the couch pieces. I eventually completed it though, marking three out of four pieces of furniture down I had to model, the first two being the table and storage cabinet.

MC- Milestone 1 Models

Started a new modeling class. We are learning about edge flow, making smooth edges giving the objects a more realistic feel. Below are two models I made for my first milestone project.

Using the insert edge loop tool around the edges of the pieces can help hold the shape of the object when you smooth it.
